The Story Behind Beertopia
It started the way the best things do — with a cold pint and a long drive. Somewhere between an amber ale in Asheville and a farmhouse saison outside Portland, I realized that every state has its own beer story. Not just the headliners, but the weird ones, the hyper-local ones, the "you have to know a guy" ones.
Beertopia is my attempt to catalog that. Not with scores or rankings — there are plenty of apps for that — but as a map. A living guide to America's craft beer landscape, state by state, style by style, taproom by taproom.
I'm a product builder by trade and a beer enthusiast by everything else. When I'm not shipping software, I'm probably researching a new brewery, arguing about whether hazy IPAs have gone too far (they have), or driving to a taproom I found on a dusty corner of the internet.
This site is built with Astro, hosted on Cloudflare, and maintained with equal parts caffeine and malt. If you know a beer that should be on here, or a brewery I'm sleeping on, I want to hear about it.
